Morella Road

Morella Road

This 4-bedroom, end of terrace house built in around 1880, was completely remodeled/refurbished and transformed to create a 6-bedroom house with a new basement below the entire house and garden.

The existing lean-to extension and conservatory that housed the kitchen and dining room in an awkward layout, was demolished and a new flat-roofed extension was constructed in its place – creating space for a TV/sitting area alongside the open plan kitchen/dining area.  Crittall doors with red brick detailing around the openings were added in order to create a new addition that was sympathetic in style to the rest of the property.

The basement extension created space for a large games/cinema room, study, large utility room, gym and shower room, feature wine cellar, store-room and a double bedroom with ensuite shower room.

On the upper floors, a spacious master suite was created – with a 16m2 dressing room off the bedroom that opened up to the master ensuite. Three bedrooms were created on the top floor alongside a new bathroom.

Rako (state of the art digital dimming technology) was installed, to control all of the lighting and to allow ‘scenes’ to be set to suit different functions and moods.  In the Games Room, a bespoke star map was created to the ceiling – with fibre optics installed to our careful setting out of the star map of a section of the sky, showing several key constellations.
