Cadogan Street | Chelsea | SW3
The property is within the Chelsea Conservation Area and is a five storey mid-terrace property with north facing garden. The layout house had undergone piecemeal remodelling and refurbishment over the years leading to a mixture of different floor levels and assortment of rooms.
The focus of the brief was to remove odd steps between floor areas and make rational sense of the rooms with better connection, more light and better head room. Our final design involved completely demolishing and rebuilding the rear closet wing with an additional storey, deepening of the basement and open planning the living space on the ground floor. We remodelled and refurbished all floors.
The finished building now contains a games room with access to garden, bedroom suite, laundry, storage room and plant room on the lower ground floor. The ground floor is now an open planned kitchen, dining and living space on one level with feature stair case rising to the first floor. The first floor contains a study and through drawing room/library and on the upper floors a master suite and a further three bedrooms and bathrooms.
In addition to the above a new staircase was installed throughout the building and general refurbishment was done throughout.
